Do I need an order from my doctor to purchase tests? No. Simply select a test, check out and take the lab order form to the nearest testing site. We provide an order form from a licensed doctor in your state through our network.
How do I get my blood drawn? Simply print and take your test order with you to one of the 2,300 lab testing centers throughout the United States. A certified technician will draw your sample and process the order.
Will NBI diagnose, treat or prescribe medications for me? No. NBI is not a medical facility and does not have a doctor-patient relationship with you and no specific medical advice will be given. We offer laboratory testing for informational purposes only.
What’s included with the price of the test? The test price includes a doctor’s order for testing, all lab and testing fees, a blood draw fee and a copy of your results.
How old do I have to be to order tests? You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a test. At this time, NBI does not offer tests for minors.
Can I buy a test regardless of where I live in the United States? Laboratory tests are available for purchase for people in all states except New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
How long does it take to get test results? It depends on the test. Each test product page provides this information. For example, a fasting blood glucose test only takes about one business day to get the results whereas a female hormone panel can take about five business days. See individual test product pages for specific turnaround times.
Do I need an appointment to get my blood drawn? No, you don’t need an appointment; however, one is recommended. Having an appointment will get you in and out of the testing center faster.
How do I find a test center near me and schedule an appointment? Use our Locate a Test Center to locate the nearest test center and schedule an appointment.
Does the test order form expire? Yes. You must use the test order within six months of the date of purchase. Lab orders older than six months are automatically purged from our system.
How do I receive my results? You can opt-in to receive test results by email. If you decide to not do this, then in order to view and download your results, you’ll need to log into your NBI account. When the test results are ready, the PDF file will be in your account Order History.
Will my test results always be available for me to download or print? No. Lab test results will be available for you to view, download or print from within your NBI account for six months after test results are reported. For security purposes, links to test results are purged from our system after six months.

If I don’t see a test I want, can I request it? If NBI doesn’t have a test you want, complete our contact form and request the test you want. While we aren’t able to offer every lab test, we’ll do our best to get what you want. If we’re able to add it, we can typically do so and let you know within 72 hours, Monday through Friday.
Is the testing HIPAA compliant? Yes. NBI takes data security seriously and complies will all relevant HIPAA requirements. HIPAA stands for Health Information Portability and Accountability Act. It provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding protected health information (PHI).

If my results are overdue or I have a concern, who can I call? If your results are overdue please contact NBI’s customer service at 800-624-1416 and we will work with our partners to resolve any issues that you may have.
